COUNTRYFILE presenter and journalist, John Craven OBE, will sound the horn to start Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbon Walk on Saturday.

The TV presenter is joining women and men taking part in ten and 20-mile walks at Blenheim Palace, to help the cancer support charity find ways to prevent the disease and develop new treatments.

Walkers can enjoy Blenheim Palace’s 'spectacular' grounds, woodland trails and 'picturesque' Oxfordshire villages.

What makes this charity walk different is that people can add a personal touch as they are invited to write a personal message on a pink ribbon, which can be added to the display of ribbons at the end of the walk.

Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbon Walk manager, Preena Mistry, said: “Our display of ribbons is home to 15 years’ worth of messages of love and support. We hold on to every single one and we can’t wait for you to add yours.

“We are so looking forward to seeing everyone. Together, we can provide support for today and hope for the future. “

Registration to take part in the walk, which is in association with Sketchers, is now closed, but people can still sign up on the day if they arrive at 8am for the 20 mile walk or at 10.30am for the ten-mile walk.

Over a thousand people have signed up and walkers at this year’s event are set to raise over £190,000 for those affected by the disease.
