METALWORK, milkshakes and more await in a fest for the sense in Rhuddlan this weekend.

With 55 stalls and attractions on offer, The Gwledd Rhuddlan Food, Drink and Craft Festival returns to the Community Centre on Parliament Street on Saturday, May 18 from 10am.

Following up from last year’s event, which coincided with the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, more than half of the event’s 50 exhibitors will represent Denbighshire food, drink and craft producers.

Now in its fifth year, the festival is voluntarily organised by Denbighshire events organisers Bespoke Fitness and Events and was instigated by town and county councillor Arwel Roberts to showcase a range of food a crafts from the town - as well as a smattering of businesses from Flintshire, Wrexham, Conwy, Anglesey, Gwynedd and even as far as Manchester.

Food stalls range from hog roasts to vegan cakes and there will also be an opportunity to sample a variety of gins, vodka and fizz.

In addition to plenty of food and drink, visitors can peruse a range of gifts and other crafts including soft furnishings, jewellery, bee products, candles, baby knits and other curiosities.

There will also be stalls for charities RSPB Cymru and Alzheimer’s Research, as well as the Urdd Eisteddfod.

Entertainment throughout the day will be provided by school choirs from Ysgol Y Castell and Cylch Meithrin, ukulele musician Annabel Jacobsen acoustic dance headliners The Hedge Gods and balloon modelling from wizard Jay Gatling as well as a bouncy castle and face painting.
