NETWORK Rail said it wanted to ‘resolve’ the problem of flash flooding on a busy route behind Oxford rail station.

Liberal Democrat county councillor John Howson told last week how he has called for Roger Dudman Way to be resurfaced.

Network Rail has not said yet when it will act.

A spokesman said: “We are aware that the area holds water following heavy rainfall and we are looking to resolve the issue as part of our planned wider phase two Oxford station remodelling work.

“Currently the road is not worn or damaged and to resurface it would mean water would flow into residents’ gardens unless a better drainage system is also installed.”
