DEVASTATED loved ones of missing Emma Faulds have issued an emotional plea for a candlelit vigil to be held in her honour.

Members of the public are being asked to light a candle, wherever they are, to pay their respects to the tragic woman whose body is still being searched for by cops.

Detectives looking for the Kilmarnock 39-year-old have been conducting enquiries in the South Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway border in southern Scotland.

Pal Kelly Mc Mi said on Facebook: "I would like to ask if it would be okay to have a candle night, for Emma Faulds. Everyone light a candle at a window on Sunday night at 7pm to show respect.

"this beautiful lassies life was taken in her prime."

Cops dealing with the family have called this a harrowing time as they continue in their attempts to locate her body.

Kilmarnock pub The Tartan Sheep backed the idea of a vigil, with bosses saying on Facebook: "We will have a candle lit at the bar today and candles lit at our windows at 7pm to remember Emma Faulds.

"Please contact the police if you have any information that could help with their inquiries."

Heartbrokem close pal Grant Butler urged people "not to give up" in the search for her.

He wrote on Facebook: "Emma still hasn’t been found folks.

"Please don’t think that just because someone has been charged with her death that we need to stop looking for her.

"With her being away for so long I’m still asking, pleading with all my Facebook friends and theirs to keep an eye out for anything that looks suspicious or that looks out of place to you."

Officers are keen to trace the movements of motor vehicles on the A714 Girvan to Newton Stewart road on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

They are particularly interested in sightings of Jaguar and Mercedes type vehicles in the area of Barrhill.
