TWO men have been arrested following a rape in Oxford.

A 19-year-old and a 36-year-old, both from Oxford, have been arrested on suspicion of rape in connection with the incident in Turl Street between 3.20am and 3.40am on Saturday.

They remain in police custody at this time.

A woman in her twenties was attacked and is still being supported by specially trained officers.

Police announced on Saturday that they were hunting two men, adding that there would be an increased police presence on the streets.

In an appeal for witnesses, senior investigating officer, detective inspector Matt Bick mentioned that three vehicles passed along Turl Street during the time of the assault.

He appealed for the drivers of those vehicles to come forward, with police particularly interested in dash-cam footage.

The officer also asked anyone walking in the area at the time to come forward.
