CURTIS Nelson and Rob Hall will be offered new contracts by Oxford United, boss Karl Robinson has confirmed.

Individual meetings to discuss the future were held with the squad yesterday.

While the club's retained list will not be released until after the final game of the season on Saturday, Robinson has revealed a couple of details.

Although Nelson is widely expected to depart when his deal expires this summer, the U's plan to make a last-ditch attempt to keep the centre back - but it will have a deadline to ensure they are not kept in limbo.

Robinson said: "We had a chat with him yesterday.

"He’s going to be offered another contract and there will be a window of opportunity where that becomes null and void in some ways.

"In the last couple of months he’s been one of the better players and has stood up to the task of when we really needed him he was there.

"No-one can question how he’s finished here if he does decide to move on."

United's prospects appear far better with Hall, who earlier this week made it clear he would love to stay.

But after a season wiped out by injury, it looks like the winger will need to accept a pay cut.

Robinson said: "He will be offered a contract, but as you can imagine it’s not what he would have been before.

"He knows and was very receptive to that."
