It has been closed since the end of March, with updates of the work progress posted on its Facebook page.

There were fears last year the pub could shut for good after local business owners and residents reported ‘sporadic’ openings.

But owner Greene King confirmed it was changing management and submitted plans for a refurbishment of the interior and pub garden in February.

It is now run by the Sadones family team behind the Old Bookbinders in Jericho.
