MANY keen gardeners take great pride in showing off their success, whether that be a giant pumpkin or a mega marrow.
But it was the fruits of Eileen and John Margett's labour which caught the attention of Oxford City Council in September 2000.
The pair had been dedicatedly tending to their allotment in hope of acknowledgement in the upcoming allotment awards.
The council were of course impressed at the pair's impressive Botley plot and crowned them winners of the Council Allotment Competition 2000.
