The furniture firm Westley Barrell based in Ducklington near Witney, ceased trading and failed to pay its staff less than two months after promising ‘a brighter future’.

A man in his twenties, was in hospital after he was stabbed during a late night attack in Witney town centre.

7. Man in 70s dies after falling from bridge on A40
Thames Valley Police announced last week that5 a man had been pronounced dead after falling from a bridge on the westbound carriageway near Wheatley, close to junction 8 of the M40.
6. Waitrose car park sealed off after man attacked
On April 11 police were called to Waitrose car park in Thame following reports a man had been assaulted.

5. Teenager followed and raped by stranger in Oxford
Two weeks ago an 18-year-old woman left Plush nightclub on Frewin Court and was followed by a man down High Street – at some point during her journey a man led her to an unknown location and raped her.
Police are still appealing for more information.

2. Travellers due in court after refusing to leave football pitch
A group of travellers refused to leave a football pitch in Abingdon.
The fleet of about 20 vehicles were told to leave the site – but Oxfordshire County Council visited the pitch and found the camp still there.
