PREMIER Inn has been given planning permission to extend its Milton Interchange hotel near Didcot.

Vale of White Horse District Council’s planning committee gave the go-ahead for the 80-bedroom annexe at a meeting on Wednesday.

It will be added to the current hotel, which has 135 bedrooms. The next work will be the third time the hotel has been allowed to expand.

Premier Inn, which was established in 1987, had asked to expand the hotel late last year.

Its car park will also be expanded. There will be 39 parking spaces added and the work will leave 205 car spaces.

There has been other work to Premier Inn hotels around Oxfordshire over recent months.

Last November, Premier Inn, which is based in Dunstable, was given permission to make its Bicester branch bigger.

It opened in 2013 and will have 140 bedroom when expansion work has been completed.

Premier Inn currently has seven hotels in Oxfordshire.

Its Milton Interchange branch is branded as Oxford South.

It also runs hotels at the Oxford Business Park in Garsington Road; in Marcham Road, Abingdon; in Stroud Park in Banbury; in Ducklington Lane in Witney and in Spring Street, Chipping Norton.
