A SUPERMARKET has officially unveiled its revamped branch in Kidlington.

The Midcounties Co-operative Food in High Street has welcomed customers back following a £540,000 makeover.

The shop, which also has a Post Office and Co-operative Travel, launched its new look with a ceremony last Thursday.

Representatives from dementia charity Daybreak cut the ribbon, while other guests included councillor Maurice Billington, chairman of Cherwell District Council.

Daniel Stribling, store manager at the branch, said: "Our new and improved convenience store is now open for business and it was great to see so many local residents there for the official ribbon cutting to join in the celebrations.

"The Midcounties Co-operative is committed to supporting local good causes like Daybreak, which is a fantastic organisation that supports people with dementia in Oxford.

"The work they do is incredibly valuable to the community, so it was great they joined us for the official launch, alongside our local shoppers."

Co-operative Travel is already an established brand in Kidlington and its new branch has a team of four travel experts, with more than 70 years of industry experience between them.

Zoe Triscornia, branch manager at the travel store in Kidlington, said: "It was great to greet our first customers on Thursday and help them with booking their perfect trip.

"Making a difference to the local community is a huge priority for us at The Midcounties Co-operative and we hope our customers enjoy our new modern travel branch where they can pick up all their holiday essentials."
