AN ‘OddBall’ festival put on by the Oxford Psychedelic Society is coming to the city this summer.

The inaugural 'space-themed celebration in the spirit of psychedelia', is due to take place at the Isis Farmhouse pub on the banks of the Thames at Iffley.

It promises to feature 'intergalactic jazz and otherworldly soundscapes, bass-heavy funk and love-infused electronica', and will be headlined by genre-defying act Sun Ra Arkestra, in their first ever Oxford gig.

Lead Organiser Lucian Wong explained: “OddBall is a truly collaborative effort on the part of Oxford students and the local community’s wealth of artists, freaks, and glorious oddities.

Oxford Mail:

"It is an exciting and much needed opportunity to transcend the divide between 'town and gown' that characterises our city.

"In a spirit of both reverence and reverie, OddBall is a celebration of our common humanity. We are all in this together—so let us dance.”

The trippy festival, on Saturday, June 8, is set to offer a 'broad constellation of spirit-feeding sounds'.
