AN Oxford man is set to tackle an epic 940-kilometre bike ride to help young cancer patients get their lives back on track.

Ludo Bennett-Jones, 28, will be among 12 riders tackling the nine-leg ride - from Largs, Scotland, to Cowes, Isle of Wight - in support of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

The riders will cover around 100km a day in a fundraising effort for the national charity, which supports people aged eight to 24 in rebuilding their confidence after cancer.

The former Dragon School pupil, who now lives in London, said: “I have seen first-hand the difference the Trust makes to young peoples’ lives, and the confidence it gives them, and I want to give that opportunity to more young people who are suffering from cancer."

He added: "I love a challenge. I wanted to get involved as soon as I heard the idea.

"I'm most looking forward to not staring at a screen, seeing the countryside and working as a team to get to the finish."
