A ROBBER is still on the run more than six weeks after fleeing prison - and police suspect he has burgled several homes since his escape.

Jason Sufi absconded from HMP Spring Hill in Buckinghamshire on February 20, and he has been connected with four burglaries, including in Oxfordshire.

The 39-year-old had been serving a nine-year indeterminate sentence for burglary false imprisonment and robbery.

He is now wanted in connection with burglaries in Oxfordshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Hampshire and Wiltshire.

Police have urged anyone who sees Sufi to call 999, and believe he could have travelled 'elsewhere across the UK.'

Last month Thames Valley Police renewed its appeal to trace Sufi and said he could be in Bicester or Oxford.

Spring Hill is an open prison, which means inmates are allowed to leave the premises for certain reasons such as employment, and are largely trusted to return of their own accord.

However, Sufi failed to report back to the prison in Grendon Underwood after leaving at about 1.15pm that day.

He is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall with olive skin, dark hair and with a medium build.

When he was last seen he was wearing a light blue tracksuit with socks over the bottoms.
