A VILLAGE near Wallingford will play host to a fundraising event to launch a new foundation for a terror victim, following the second anniversary of the Stockholm truck attack.

This Sunday will mark two years since the incident, in which a hijacked truck killed five people including Chris Bevington, 41. He threw his seven-year-old son to safety before being struck down.

Now friends are launching The Chris Bevington Foundation - a charity to help transform the lives of young people through music.

Following Sunday's launch, a fundraiser called Around The Boundary will be held at Kidmore End Cricket Club on Sunday, May 5.

The 'boutique day festival', near Henley and Wallingford, promises to feature live music, kids entertainment and a selection of excellent local food and drink.

Friend Jez Felwick, from Gallowstree Common, set up the foundation with brother Matt.

He explained: "We are trying to do some good out of something really bad.

"Chris worked for Spotify and loved music. The Foundation funds projects to improve young people's lives, through the power of music."

Matt added: “My brother and I grew up in the area and it’s great to be able to put on such an awesome local event for such a great cause. To create something so positive out of such a tragic, heart breaking situation is amazing. Chris loved visiting us here and he would loved to have been part of a party like this.”

The event runs from 11am - 11pm, with tickets costing £20 for adults and £7.50 for children.
