A DRIVER paid the penalty for poor driving after police found a host of problems with their car.

Thames Valley Police's Roads Policing Unit is today carrying out Operation Trunk on the A34 in Oxfordshire, with the first driver pulled over near Abingdon before 9am.

Police stopped the motorist after they failed to indicate and found the vehicle had no MOT or insurance. They seized the vehicle and penalised the driver.

Police will be tweeting some of its work throughout the day as it focuses on the major road.
