PARENTS at a school have clubbed together to start two new 'bus bike' schemes.

A 'bus bike' or 'cycle train' is where people cycle together following set route at scheduled times.

The parents at Windmill Primary School started the new routes to encourage people who might not otherwise ditch their cars and swap for the saddle, or those who might be nervous to cycle alone with their children at rush hour.

The parents and children will begin at the start of one of the routes, either through Headington towards the school, or through Risinghurst and Headington Quarry. Both will stop off at pit-stops picking other cyclists up along the way.
