NOBODY likes to see diving on the football pitch, but it was almost acceptable in March 1981.
Heavy rainfall flooded parts of Oxford, but two residents decided to make the best of a bad situation.
Gordon Hallett and Amanda Oliver took to the water for some fun in their dinghies on the flooded football pitch in Ferry Hinksey Road, West Oxford.

Unsurprisingly, they had the freedom of the pitch, with other residents opting to stay in their homes.
