The Oxford Mail saw a police car stationed at the Bonn Square entrance to the Westgate at around 1pm.

Mikolajczak admitted one count of causing criminal damage to a keyboard of unknown value belonging to the library, intending to destroy or damage it.

He also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The 31-year-old was already on a six week suspended sentence for assaulting a police officer on April 9 at the time of the library incident.

At Oxford Magistrates Court on March 6 part of this sentence was activated due to the repeat offending and he was forced to serve three weeks in prison.

He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation to the library, which is run by Oxfordshire County Council.

Meanwhile, another man, Boguslaw Bajorski, has been charged with assaulting two people by beating them at the library.

He was remanded on bail and is set to appear at the same court on May 2.

He has been told he should not enter the Westgate Shopping Centre or contact three people in this time.
