A SHOPPING centre in Cowley is calling for people to put forward a mum who deserves some retail therapy this Mother's Day.

The winning nomination, submitted on Templar Square Shopping Centre's Facebook page, will receive £100 worth of shopping vouchers for the retail centre.

Locals can vote for their mother, or mother figure, by explaining why they deserve the treat.

The competition runs until the end of March 28, with the winner announced the following day.

Owen Acland, Templars Square Centre Manager, said: “Mother’s Day is a perfect time to say thank you to the special lady in your life so we’re delighted to help make this year even more special with a little bit of retail therapy.”

In addition to the nominations Templars Square will also be celebrating during Mothers’ Day weekend with Hope Oxford, a local church group.

The church group will be at the centre on March 30 from 11am until 3pm helping children make Mother’s Day cards and also hand tie bunches of daffodils to give as gifts.

Josh Kay from Hope Oxford said: “What a great opportunity we have to pamper mums, and see children from all generations having fun creating something personal to thank their mum.

“Last year was our first year doing this event and we're excited about joining the team at Templars Square once again.”
