Macmillan Cancer Support awarded a total of 290 grants to people with cancer in Oxfordshire living in financial hardship last year, totalling around £114,518.
The funds helped patients pay for heating or extra clothing, buy new furniture and bedding.
The money also helped patients manage the impact of their cancer, paying for things such as frequent travel to hospital, kitchen appliances and washing machines.
Last month the Macmillan mobile support unit (pictured) travelled to towns across Oxfordshire offering financial advice to cancer patients.
In total, the charity gave grants to 2,882 people with cancer in south east England last year.
In Oxfordshire, grants were most commonly given to people living with breast cancer.
Macmillan Partnership Manager in Oxfordshire, Shelley Orton, said: “Half of us will get cancer at some point in our lives so I’m pleased Macmillan awarded around £114,518 in grants last year to ease the money worries of people with cancer in Oxfordshire.
“Cancer can affect so many parts of your life and our Macmillan grants, funded by our supporters, covered essentials from heating to travel costs for 290 people with cancer in Oxfordshire in 2018."
