A 65-YEAR-OLD motorist needed hospital treatment after a shocking rush hour attack at a busy roundabout in Oxford.

Police say the attacker pulled up beside the man's car at the Heyford Hill roundabout at around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

The attacker then got out of his car and opened the victim's car door before throwing his paperwork over the road.

As the victim got out of the car to retrieve his paperwork, the attacker punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the floor.

The other man then drove away towards the Redbridge roundabout.

The victim suffered a cut to his eye that needed stitches in hospital as well as bruising and swelling.

He has since been discharged.

The attacker, who was driving a silver car, is described as black, between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and of muscular build.

He had a shaved head and was wearing a grey t-shirt.

Investigating officer, PC Lee Butler, based at Oxford police station said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“Furthermore, we would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, to check any dash-cam footage to see if it may have captured what happened.
