TOWYN and Kinmel Bay is prepared in the event of an emergency.

The Prestatyn and Rhyl Community First Responder Team (PRCFRT) have worked alongside Towyn and Kinmel Bay Town Council (TKBTC) and the Towyn and Kinmel Bay Show to site four defibrillator Pad Sites within the Towyn and Kinmel Bay Community.

The potentially life saving equipment can be used in the event of an emergency, with pods sited at the Kinmel Bay Church on St Asaph Avenue and The Morfa Leisure Centre on Cader Avenue in Kinmel Bay and the North Coast Church on Gors Road Creatasmile's Benjamin’s Café on Towyn Road in Towyn.

Defibrillator training by the team has been carried out at all the site locations, and more than 70 members of the community and businesses have been successfully trained.

Further training was carried out at TKBTC Resource Centre to all members of TKBTC after B & W Builders donated a defibrillator.

Community First Responders in Wales are volunteers, who donate their spare time and in some cases their working time if their employers allow them to attend appropriate 999 emergencies and provide first hand emergency care for people in their own community, after been alerted by the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust Control Centre.

The PRCFRT are all volunteers who have to buy their own kitbags and uniforms; they always welcome and very gratefully receive donations from the community.
