AN INCIDENT which forced a school to go into lockdown was connected to the stabbing outside a supermarket the day before, police have confirmed.
Thames Valley Police spokesman James Williams said a 20-year-old man from Oxford was arrested near Oxford Spires Academy on Wednesday on suspicion of assisting an offender.

He added:"This is in connection with the stabbing in Headington on Tuesday."
The school sent an email to parents at 2.49pm advising it had gone into lockdown after an intruder was spotted.

The man has since been released under investigation.
