The Oxford pair who persuaded Walkers Crisps to produce their chilli and chocolate flavour snack and Cowley Road's beloved but short-lived People's Supermarket are just two of the highlights from the 'supermarkets' folder in our archive.
A nostalgic snap of Oxford's old Borders book store is also among the Memory Lane treats we discovered while rifling through history.
We weren't sure if Woolworths really counted as a supermarket, but seeing its cheery red logo brought a tear to the eye so we stuck it in there as well.
We hope you enjoy perusing them as much as we did!
