Lee Upcraft says he was chosen after a Wallingford Town Council meeting last night.
The Mayor Select beat off competition from councillors Rebekah Davidson and Mick Kidley.

Mr Upcraft said: "I'm both proud and humbled to have been selected as mayor for a second term. It's an honour and a privilege to represent Wallingford - I've learnt a great deal in the past year and I look forward to learning even more about what goes on in and around town."
Another mayor would have to be chosen if Mr Upcraft is not re-elected during local elections for the council on Thursday, May 2.
However, if he is voted in, Mr Upcraft will be confirmed in post at a 'Mayor Making' meeting of the council on Monday, May 13.
Mr Upcraft continued: "There's also a great deal of challenging and exciting projects underway with various council assets, and I hope to be able to move them along to more visible stages of work next year."
