A 'DEVIOUS' phone scam that tries to trick callers out of their credit card details has been reported in Headington.
The Oxford Mail reported a warning from police about the con which involves a call from perpetrators pretending to be from BT.

The scam demands money for unpaid bills from customers, and involves disconnecting the line to prove they are from BT.
In fact, the scammers mute the call and hold the line whilst customers think they've disconnected.
Former councillor Ruth Wilkinson tweeted the scam has been reported in Headington.
