DRIVERS were stopped on the the M40 this morning while urgent road repairs were carried out.
Traffic was held on the southbound carriageway this morning between Milton Common and Lewknor, at about 8.15am, but the road has since reopened.
#M40 southbound between J7 and J6 near #Oxford , #Trafficofficers briefly held the traffic so contractors could complete an emergency repair to the carriageway. Please allow extra time for your journey as residual delays of 35 minutes remain on the approach.

Highways England said the delay was due to an 'emergency repair,' but did not give further details.
Yesterday the A34 in Oxford was partly closed, also due to emergency repairs.
