THE EPIC 500-mile bike ride staged by parents in memory of their baby boy will now finish at Blenheim Palace.

Oscar Cole died suddenly from a brain injury in 2014.

The #Too500 ride, over five days, will take riders to various children's hospitals in the country before concluding at the palace.

Hannah and David Cole, from Kirtlington, are enlisting riders to take on the whole route, or a 100-mile stint to help raise £500,000 for children's hospital care through their charity Thinking of Oscar.

Mrs Cole said: “We are so grateful to Blenheim Palace for lending their support and agreeing to welcome us at the end of the challenge.

"Completing #TOO500 is a big undertaking but knowing the finishing line is in one of the most beautiful estates in the country will certainly provide additional inspiration for everyone.

"Zing Event Management are working closely with all key stakeholders to ensure this event is expertly organized and delivered, including health and safety, logistics and co-ordination with key partners."

The #TOO500 event will set off from Oxford Children’s Hospital on June 12.

Mr Cole added: "The ride was always going to be a circular route, so to come back to our home county and complete the challenge at Blenheim will be magnificent.

"In addition to visiting the Olympic Park and the UK’s top children’s hospitals the journey will be quite special.

"I’m sure it will be an emotional moment as we turn into the estate and pedal up that endless drive towards the house. #TOO500 will test us in many ways, but we want to make a real difference to children’s health and help innovate via technology.

"We encourage anyone looking for a cycling challenge to join us, either for the complete event or for one of the days. We believe the #TOO500 event will help spread the message that paediatric healthcare needs more investment and help generate the funds to support it."
