Do you get annoyed at cyclists who cycle with no lights?
The police enforced 18 cyclists who were riding their bikes with no lights last night in the city centre.
They fined motorists who were rat-running through the city too.
They had received growing complaints from people about the dangerous cyclists.
According to the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations (RVLR), it's illegal to cycle on a public road after dark without lights and reflectors in the UK.
Bike lights and reflectors help cyclists to be seen by other road users.
Rule 60 of the Highway Code states that at night your cycle must have white front and red rear lights lit. It must also be fitted with a red rear reflector (and amber pedal reflectors, if manufactured after 1/10/85).
