IT IS the last chance for residents to have their say on plans for a major refurbishment of an East Oxford pub.

There were fears last year the James Street Tavern would close after residents and local businesses reported 'sporadic' opening hours.

Owner Greene King, however, confirmed the pub was instead undergoing a change in management and the pub reopened after a short closure in December now run by the Sadones family team behind the Old Bookbinders in Jericho.

Plans submitted to Oxford City Council last month revealed a complete overhaul of the inside of the historic pub, which dates back to the 19th century, as well as providing an ‘alfresco experience’ with improvements to the current beer garden and outside of the pub.
