A PRIMARY school wants to build an outdoor classroom to cope with an increase in pupils.

Bladon C of E Primary School, near Woodstock, has applied to install the building in its front garden area.

The school currently has 99 pupils on its roll, up from 86 three years ago, but just four classrooms.

Three of those have a mix of school years and it is hoped the new classroom will make it easier to teach lessons to different year groups at the same time.

It also has a substantial garden area, featuring an early years outdoor learning area, a wildlife garden and a small woodland ‘forest school’.

From 2015 to 2017, the school completed three phases of upgrades to its facilities.

This included extending the foundation and early years and Year 3/4 classrooms, as well as upgrades to the pupils' toilet block.
