PEOPLE were given a sweet treat at Oxford's Westgate centre yesterday with free samples of biscuits being handed out to shoppers.

The pop up shop saw from biccy brand Elizabeth Shaw is at the mall all weekend as part of a national roadshow to hear ideas from the public about the perfect taste and texture combination.

Shoppers were able to try the biscuits while also being asked for ideas on what flavour combinations they would like to see.

In a recent national survey by the company Oxford was found to have one of the highest biscuit consumption rates in the UK, with people consuming on average 15 a week.

The study also found that one in five people in Oxford prefer to pair their sweet treat with a glass of wine or a cocktail rather than the more traditional tea or coffee.

The pop-up shop is at the Westgate until Sunday.
