Here is a round-up of some of the sentencing hearings held at Oxford Crown Court between Tuesday February 25 and Friday March 1.

Monday

Karzan Rostam, 46, of Seymour Road, Luton. 

Busted by undercover officers after a sting operation at a supermarket he was running on Cowley Road.

He admitted 25 counts relating to the selling and possession of unmarked tobacco products.

Tuesday

Reece Haywood-Gray, 27, Devon Thompson, 42, and Mark Carville, 37.

All inmates at HMP Bullingdon who were given jail terms for having phones while in prison.

Haywood-Gray went to extraordinary lengths to try and hide his phone by stuffing the device up his backside.

Bernard Cowley, 37, of Tyrrells Way, Sutton Courtenay.

Jailed after launching a savage assault on his partner during a row, head-butting her, breaking her nose and pulling clumps from her hair.

And then attacking her a second time after he was released under investigation.

Wednesday

Mark Cordell, 55, of Canal Street, Oxford.

A drunk who smashed every window of an Oxford pub was told he must pay for the damage and tackle his alcoholism, or face a jail sentence.

Cordell smashed up all the ground floors of the Old Bookbinders pub on Boxing Day.

Thursday

Christopher Towner, 52, of High Street, Swanage.

A child rapist who preyed on a nine-year girl, sexually abusing her during a campaign of abuse.

He was jailed for 10 years.

Friday

Peter Kabiria, 18, of Dynham Place, Oxford.

Led police on a high speed pursuit through the city in a stolen Audi S3 Quattro.
