POLICE have been combing gardens in North Oxford after reports of a man acting suspiciously.
Officers have been out making house-to-house calls after it was reported a man was acting suspiciously in a garden in Woodstock Road.
Residents told the Mail there was a large police presence also around Davenant Road, off Woodstock Road.
The police helicopter has also been spotted.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Kieren Bushnell said: "Following an extensive area search, no-one was located."

One woman who lives in the area and asked not to be named said a police car had blocked the entrance to a block of flats on the corner of Davenant Road and Banbury Road earlier today.
She said: "There was one police car there, it appeared to be attending the flats at the corner of Banbury Road.

"It's a very posh block of flats, opposite Colin Dexter's house.
"Someone said the car was parked in such a way as to block off the driveway."
She also said the police helicopter had been hovering over the area this morning.
