HEAVY snow forced the Oxford Mail's OX5 run to be cancelled in April 2008.
Four inches of the white stuff fell on Blenheim Palace, leaving organisers no chance but to call the race off.
Many runners turned up anyway but were turned away at the gate.
Brian Summerfield and Jason Cobb, pictured, decided to have fun in the snow instead.
Their friends had come all the way from Bridgend, south Wales to cheer them on.
Last year the popular fun run celebrated its 15th anniversary.
It has raised £1million since it began in 2003.
This year’s Oxford Mail OX5 Run will take place on Sunday, March 24, in the grounds of Blenheim Palace.
The 5k fun run, sponsored by Allen Associates, will once again raise funds for Oxford Children’s Hospital. To sign up go to ox5run.co.uk
