OXFORDSHIRE is bidding to become a world leader in the low carbon, green industries of the future with the launch of Oxfordshire Greentech, a new business network.
A recent survey found that the county already has nearly 9,000 people working in the low carbon goods and services sector, with sales of £1.15 bn a year.

Oxfordshire Greentech is a key part of the wider OxFutures project, an ambitious three-year initiative to fuel low carbon growth. Barbara Hammond OBE, OxFutures Project chair, said: “We welcome the fact that Oxford City Council has just declared that we face a climate emergency. We now need the businesses to deal with that emergency.”
