WHAT is the first thing you would do if you won the lottery? ‘Not buy the £10m house up for sale on Woodstock Road’, say readers.

Tonight, the winner of the Euromillions could become £21m richer – but before the money has even been handed over Oxford Mail readers have decided what they would do with the cash, and it isn’t buying Oxford’s most expensive pad.

One reader, going by the name Jerry Co, wrote: “Why would you choose to live on Woodstock Road if you had £10m?

Oxford Mail:

From the skies, Summertown Villa hidden on the Woodstock Road

“If you want seclusion, just buy a massive country estate for £9m and hire a chauffeur 24/7 to drive one of your new three Rolls Royce’s into Oxford whenever you choose.”

Others explained that the plot is perfect for redevelopment.

But Stape thinks the money could be put to better use: “10 million! Why so expensive? Seen better secluded houses for less with land.”

Dave Paxton agreed, saying: “I couldn’t think of a worse place to live if I had 10 million. Seems awfully expensive for what it is too.”

Remember when students camped outside their letting agents so they could bag their dream home?

Facebook users also cashed in.

Benjamin James Macey said: “It’s only worth what someone is willing to pay, therefore if it hasn’t sold it’s only worth what the previous price paid… and I’m guessing that isn’t £10million. Otherwise I can value my shed at £11million and claim that title.”
