A CAR was forced to turn around in heavy fog after going the wrong way at a major junction.

Passing motorcyclist Paul Nicholas filmed this clip of a driver performing a dangerous manoeuvre across three lanes of traffic this morning at the Milton Interchange.

Around 8am, Mr Nicholas had just turned off the roundabout and was heading towards the petrol garage when he saw the car pass in the slip road.

The car drove head-on into three lanes of oncoming traffic, and was heading towards the exit for A34 before Mr Nicholas intervened.

He pulled over as the car stopped a little further up the road and then helped to guide them around.

Despite the low visibility, the driver of the car performed a U-turn while facing ther wrong way to get onto the right side of the road.

Mr Nicholas said: "It was so lucky I wasn't in the right hand lane like I was meant to be.

"I go through this junction twice a day and it's horribly confusing.

"The lanes are badly marked and faint and go all over the place."

Last week a driver drove the wrong way up the M40, forcing other road users to swerve out of the way.

Temporary signs have now been put in place at the entrance to the motorway to better instruct drivers.
