NEIGHBOURS of an elite Cotswold members' club have spoken out about an influx of celebrities to their quiet corner of west Oxfordshire.

Those living close to Soho Farmhouse in Great Tew, near Chipping Norton, are reportedly sick and tired of guests charging around quiet country lanes in sports cars and SUVs.

According to The Times, former Prime Minister David Cameron, who lives nearby, is among those to have voiced frustrations.

The hangout, which has attracted A-listers including Eddie Redmayne, Cara Delevingne and Simon Pegg, has transformed a once 'unspoilt' corner of the county, according to people who spoke to the paper.

One said: "Everyone here is quite anti-Soho Farmhouse.

"It's caused more cars and noise and it frightens the horses.

"Sandford St Martin [a neighbouring village] is empty now and it's ruining the character of the place.

"People come in on a Friday and leave on a Sunday."

The country retreat opened in 2015 and charges £350 a night, offering guests a 55-seat cinema and boating lake with spa retreat.

A spokeswoman for Soho Farmhouse told The Times: "Concerns on traffic have been taken seriously and after consulting with residents we've invested in improving road safety and traffic flow.

"We have added a network of road signs that direct cars away from villages and along the main roads, and all our deliveries are done along the main arterial roads."
