AN AWARD-WINNING luxury Anglesey venue has been chosen as the most romantic in Wales.
Chateau Rhianfa, located between Menai Bridge and Beaumaris, won the title of 'Best Romantic Hotel' at the 2019 Welsh Wedding Awards held at the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff on Wednesday.
Nominations for the hotel to win the prize were put forward by its previous wedding guests, before an expert panel of judges chose them as the winner.
Chateau Rhianfa's operations event manager Gemma Redfern-Murphy and events co-ordinator Emilee Esposito attended the ceremony to pick up their award.
"We are very proud to have won this award," said Chateau Rhianfa sales and events manager Delyth Roberts
"The team here at Chateau are a very experienced team who work hard to ensure the perfect day is had by all our wedding guests who come here.
"It's an amazing building situated right on the Menai straits which makes it the perfect location to host a wedding."
Chateau Rhianfa was first built in the 19th century as a dower house for Lady Sarah Hay-Williams. It officially opened as a hotel in 2012, following a multi-million pound restoration project.
Described as a "fairytale venue", the hotel consists of 30 beautifully designed rooms and has won several awards for its wedding events, as well as its overall hospitality towards guests.
