A NEW type of gym club where people get fit by doing good deeds launches in Oxford tonight.
GoodGym will challenges members to run around their area but stop off periodically to help older people and community groups with odd jobs.
The launch of GoodGym Oxford has been made possible through the support of the city council’s Home Improvement Agency, which supports older, disabled and vulnerable residents, and Oxfordshire County Council.

In addition to the weekly group run, GoodGym runners will also be paired with an isolated older person and commit to a weekly social visit and helping with one-off household tasks.
The organisation says its runners across the UK have already completed more than 120,000 good deeds.
GoodGym Oxford will launch with an event at East Oxford Community Centre on Princes Street at 6pm.
