AN OLD school which now sits derelict and unused could be transformed into a family home – but only if plans are given the go-ahead by Oxford City Council.

St James Church School was first built in 1834, but now all that's left on the site at Beauchamp Lane is bricks and rubble.

Until 2004, it was used as a referral unit for trouble pupils. But now, it could be given a spruce up as a couple want to turn it into a family home.

To do that, they need to change the use from an education centre into residential use.
