A NEW vicar is set to be in place at an Oxford church criticised for ‘misogyny’ by the end of the month.

St Barnabas and St Paul with St Thomas the Martyr benefice were heavily criticised for banning women from the application process for the role last year.

Church warden Hanneke Wilson explained: “Our new Vicar, the Rev’d Christopher Woods, will be inducted on Thursday, February 28 at 7pm. We are very much looking forward to his arrival.”

Father Christopher joins from London's St Anne’s Hoxton, after five years in post.
