TWO Witney teenagers had extra reason to hope England enjoyed a successful World Cup in 1982.
Mark Bennett, 19, and John Chivers, 17, won tickets for the second round of the competition in Spain, plus flights and accommodation, through the yearly incentive raffle at their firm Zedcor, based on Bridge Street Mills.
The pair, both machine operators at the polythene building materials company, qualified for the raffle through their loyalty and good performance.
Each trip of a lifetime was worth about £500 and saw the teenagers fly out in late June.
As ever, England underperformed at the tournament, falling at the second group stage after 0-0 draws with Germany and Spain.
