A MAN has been charged with assault after a woman was repeatedly punched in the face in a city street.
The attack happened at about 11.15pm on Tuesday, February 5, outside a house on Cranley Road, Barton.
Police also revealed that a car stopped at the scene and the driver spoke to the offender before driving off, and officers are now keen to speak to the him.

In the meantime, Anthony Sexton, 30 of Mattock Close, Oxford has been charged with assault.
He has been remanded on bail to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on March 15.
Detective Constable Martin Whaley, based at Oxford police station, said: “We are appealing for the driver of the car to get in touch as we believe that they may have vital information about the incident."
