TAXIS could be given permission to drive along Oxford's Queen Street at night at an Oxfordshire County Council meeting tomorrow.
The council's cabinet member for environment, Yvonne Constance, is recommended to approve giving taxis access through Bonn Square and Queen Street between 6.30pm and 8am all days of the week.
This would allow taxis to access the Carfax taxi rank via the road, which is normally pedestrianised.

It follows a consultation on an experimental traffic regulation order which permits Oxford City Council-licenced taxis to access the taxi rank via Queen Street.
The meeting takes place at County Hall at 10am.
