A CYCLING tour of 'trailblazing women in Oxford' will take place in the city this weekend.

A group called Women's History Oxford are organising the group ride for Saturday morning.

The organisers said: "On this relaxed ride we will uncover traces of women’s presence in Oxford, where the histories of both the city and the university have traditionally been dominated by men.

"The ride, mostly around the city centre, is a chance to commemorate and celebrate the rich lives of pioneering women who have left a mark on Oxford through revisiting places connected to them, hearing and discussing their stories, and sharing our own experiences."

Cyclists will be asked for a £10 donation and the ride sets off at 10.30am from the Weston Library.

Riders are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes early to check their steeds are suitable for the route.
