PROFESSOR Bart van Es is to give a talk about his book The Cut Out Girl, which won the Costa Book of the Year award.
The lecturer at St Catherine’s College wrote about the history of his family during the Second World War, and the part his grandparents played in the Dutch resistance.

The book tells the story of Lien de Jong, who was hidden by a foster family in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation.
Prof van Es will be at Blackwell’s in Broad Street on Tuesday, March 5 from 7pm.
The talk costs £5.
