CHILDREN at a Witney primary school could become maths masters after a £1,800 grant from a housing association.

Pupils at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School are learning 'Numskills' run by Oxford charity Quest for Learning, which received the money from Cottsway.

The 30-minute sessions are designed to help the children improve their mental maths and calculation skills, while having fun with numbers and playing games.

Cottsway awarded the grant from its Community Fund initiative.

Jenny Walker, Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes, said: “The sessions will provide extra support where it’s needed and will give an extra boost to the children.

"We know that they will benefit a lot from this and this is appreciated not only by the school, but by parents and carers too.”
